BOUCTOUCHE, N.B. – Police are looking for eye witnesses after a 40-year-old man was shot in northern New Brunswick after a car crash.
RCMP Cpl. Dan Melanson said in an interview the shooting occurred following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 475 near Desroches Road in Bouctouche on Friday evening after 8 p.m.
Melanson said the vehicle ran off the road and went onto a beach near the water.
Investigators say when police arrived a 40-year-old man was found at the side of the road with a gunshot wound.
He was treated at Sainte-Anne-de-Kent hospital and later taken to Moncton hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Melanson said police aren’t releasing detailed information about potential suspects, but say the shooting was an isolated incident.
