The Canadian Forces is investigating an alleged assault that took place at the Royal Military College earlier in May.
The military confirmed in a statement that an investigation was underway but did not offer any details as to who, if anyone, was being investigated.
The assault, which allegedly took place on May 13, the day before the school’s convocation, was brought to the attention of the Military Police by a third party complainant.

The attack is alleged to have taken place nearly two weeks after an independent external review on sexual misconduct in the military which suggested a rampant “culture of misogyny” that is hostile to women and the lesbian, gay, transgendered, bisexual and queer community and was conducive to more serious incidents of sexual harassment and assault.
“The (external review) found that there is an undeniable problem of sexual harassment and sexual assault in the CAF, which requires direct and sustained action,” the report reads.
“Dismissive responses such as, ‘This is just the way of the military’ are no longer appropriate.”
