Second Costco coming to Saskatoon

SASKATOON – A second Costco Wholesale will be built in Saskatoon. Arbutus Properties announced Saturday it has negotiated a deal to have the retailer anchor The Meadows Market retail development.

The future Costco will be located on Zimmerman Road in the southeast corner of the city.

“There’s a multi-layer of players and a lot of people involved in making this come together, the city was great, the province was great, everyone was supportive in making sure that once we got the land approving zone that we made this happen,” said Jeff Drexel, CEO of Arbutus Properties.

“We know The Meadows’ residents will benefit immensely by having this retailer in the neighbourhood.”

Construction of The Meadows Market is expected to start this summer with retail development phased over the next three years.
