TORONTO – A female pedestrian was killed and a teenage boy was seriously injured after both were struck by a vehicle on Don Mills Road north of Barber Greene Road Friday morning.
Police say they were hit by a black Saturn vehicle just after 8 a.m. The 45-year-old female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Two motor vehicles were involved in the collision and one of the vehicles subsequently left the roadway and mounted the sidewalk area and struck two pedestrians,” said 33 Division Unit Commander Neil Corrigan.
Police say the teenage boy, 15, was conscious and breathing when officers arrived. He has since been transported to hospital.
A driver of one of the vehicles involved in the collision was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A witness working at an auto shop nearby said the two pedestrians were hit while they were waiting for a bus on the sidewalk.
“I was in the office and I heard a huge impact,” said A1 Autotech owner Andre Feijoo. “As soon as I turned my head I see a car coming through the intersection and into a middle of a lot where two people were standing waiting for the bus.”
