TORONTO – A mom in California lit the Internet on fire this week with a video of her lip-sync impression of her four-year-old daughter’s tantrum before bed.
Jennifer Aprea, recorded the video in her bathroom and shared it Friday on YouTube. That original upload garnered nearly a half million views at the time of this writing.
It all started with a very familiar scenario for parents. Aprea was waiting for her daughter, Danielle, to brush her teeth before bedtime when she had an outburst.
“She was kind of on this little spiral of scream, scream, scream, and then she threw in the, ‘You’ll pay for this!'” she told KCAL.

Aprea stood in front of a mirror while the tantrum went on. Her ability to time her lip movements with her daughter’s real-time screams has amazed thousands.

But, not everyone believes sharing the video was the best idea.
“‘Oh, you’re a horrible mom.’ ‘How could you do that?'” Aprea recalled what critics have said. “‘You’re cyber bullying your daughter.’ ‘She’s going to need therapy.'”
Whether or not it was right or wrong, Aprea said Danielle hasn’t had another outburst since seeing the video. In fact, she even sought revenge by recording a cute video of herself lip-syncing what her mom was saying.
“I just thought, I think if she saw how ridiculous this looks, she might laugh and think it was kinda funny and move on from it,” she added.
