RCMP spokesperson, Cpl. Joe Duncan, says a 2007 Chrysler Sebring went off the road and into a ditch.
The driver and only occupant was killed.
He is an 84-year-old Oliver man. His name has not been released.
The crash temporarily closed the eastbound lanes, partly to allow a medi-vac helicopter to land on the highway.
