A fundraising campaign has been launched in memory of 19-year-old Emily Janzen, the young woman believed to be the victim of a murder-suicide in Chilliwack and Langley.

It is believed Janzen’s father Randy confessed to killing her on Facebook last week because she suffered from chronic and crippling migraines. He also confessed to shooting his wife and sister.

Friends say Emily was a talented singer, but had to drop out of UBC because of her medical condition. She had aspirations to become an opera singer.

A bursary fund has been launched in her memory for students pursuing a performing arts education. Already, nearly $2,000 have been raised.
