WATCH: Georgia police officer dragged through parking lot by shoplifting suspect

A man who was in some trouble with law enforcement just made himself a very wanted suspect.

Brandon Adams is wanted for aggravated assault on a police officer by Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police in Georgia.

Security footage from Saturday at a gas station showed him driving off and dragging the police officer through the parking lot and nearly running him over. The officer was responding to a shoplifting call.

WATCH: Body cam footage of the incident shows the interaction between the officer and the suspect before he drove off with the officer partly stuck in his car.

According to the police department, the 23-year-old was also accused by the store manager of cashing a fake cheque months ago.

When the officer asked him for his information, Adams allegedly gave him a fake name before speeding away with the officer’s arm caught in the car as he attempted to turn off the car’s ignition.

The name of the officer has not been released, but the police department says he was able to return to work the next day without serious injuries.
