WINNIPEG – The city’s first Lego store will open at Polo Park mall this summer.
Lego stores offer play areas and family events as well as the iconic building blocks, a play staple since the brand was founded in the 1930s.

“Children and families will be able to experience firsthand and hands-on the creativity and imagination that goes into Lego building and be inspired by the over 4 million Lego bricks that are in the store at any given time,” Lego Group vice-president Eric Wolfe said in a news release.
The Lego pick-a-brick wall, which allows people to choose specific bricks, is the most popular part of Lego stores, the company said in the news release. The area dubbed the “living room” allows kids to play with the products, while the “brand ribbon” around the store has Lego model displays, history and facts about the company.
