After searching his truck, they discovered two undeclared firearms – a prohibited 9mm pistol and a restricted .22-calibre revolver.

The CBSA said the guns were found in a storage compartment hidden beneath a bed mattress in the trailer.

As a result, the CBSA’s Criminal Investigations Sections charged Peter Joseph Jennings with two counts of smuggling and two count of making false statements under the Customs Act.

He is also charged with two counts of unauthorized importing of a firearm under the criminal code.
