Fourteen people were forced out of their homes on Wednesday, after a 10-unit apartment building on Belmont Street caught fire shortly before 8 a.m.

Fire fighters were able to contain the fire to a single unit, but that unit was destroyed.

Jason Surette, from the local group Big Heart Small City confirmed tenants from five of the units have found new apartments and they’re hoping to help the tenants from the other five find apartments by the end of the day.
