UPDATE: Constable Kwesi Millington will likely be sentenced in June

One of the RCMP officers involved in Robert Dziekanski’s death will likely learn in June if he’ll see jail time for lying about what happened.

Constable Kwesi Millington was convicted of perjury in February for his testimony at a 2009 inquiry into the Polish immigrant’s death.

Three other officers were charged with colluding about the events surrounding the 2007 incident at the Vancouver airport.

Two of the others — Constables Gerry Rundel and Bill Bentley — have been acquitted.

Former Corporal Benjamin (Monty) Robinson was convicted in March.

Millington faces a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison.

His hearing got underway Thursday morning when Dziekanski’s mother Zofia Cisowski asked to enter a victim impact statement.

However, Millington’s lawyer argued she does not fall within the definition of a victim in a perjury trial.

The proceedings were stalled for an hour until the judge ruled Cisowski’s victim impact statement will, in fact, be entered into sentencing hearing.

More to come.
