CALGARY – Hundreds of voters packed an all candidates’ forum held in the city of Chestermere on Wednesday.

All six candidates in the riding of Chestermere-Rocky View were in attendance.

The riding became one of the most-watched in the provincial election due to ongoing political turmoil.

It’s currently held by Progressive Conservative Bruce McAllister, who was originally elected as a Wildrose candidate in the 2012 provincial election. However, he crossed the floor to join the PCs in December of 2014.

The riding also saw some controversy earlier this year, when the Tories suddenly withdrew the nomination of longtime party member Jamie Lall, who then entered the race as an Independent.
