The NDP’s Annie McKitrick has been elected in Sherwood Park, defeating the PC incumbent Cathy Olesen.
A riding comprising most of Sherwood Park (excluding its southern and eastern areas), it has elected PC MLAs since 1997, though the Liberal Party has occasionally gotten close.
McKitrick defeated two former mayors of Sherwood Park in PC incumbent Cathy Olesen and Wildrose Party candidate Linda Osinchuk.
