Australian team wins gold at 44th BRIT Classic

The 44th BRIT Classic wrapped up on Saturday at Bedford Road Collegiate after 3 days of intense basketball competition.

Depending champions St. George’s Saints from Vancouver were defeated by Scots College Lions in the gold medal game on Saturday by a score of 61 – 46.

Lions player, Patrick Emery was the game’s top scorer with 27 points and also the tournament MVP.

The Bedford Road Invitational Tournament (BRIT) has been hosting high school basketball teams from around the world since 1968.

Local high school teams included Beford Road Collegiate, Evan Hardy, Holy Cross and Walter Murray Collegiate.

Scots College is located in Sydney, Australia and also participated in the 2007 BRIT Classic.
