Alberta Election 2015: NDP’s Colin Piquette wins Athabasca-Sturgeon-Redwater

NDP candidate Colin Piquette has won the Athabasca-Sturgeon-Redwater riding, which is located just north of Edmonton.

It was created in the 2010 boundary redistribution when Sturgeon was added to the riding of Athabasa-Redwater.

There was a rematch between incumbent PC Jeff Johnson, a former education minister, and Wildrose contender Travis Olson. The PC party took the seat by just over 2,000 votes in 2012.

Candidates:

  • Progressive Conservatives – Jeff Johnson (incumbent)
  • Wildrose – Travis Olson
  • NDP – Colin Piquette
