Alberta Election 2015: PC’s Dave Rodney wins Calgary-Lougheed

PC incumbent Dave Rodney has held onto his seat in Calgary-Lougheed.

It was a close race: Rodney won 35 per cent of the vote, but the NDP’s Mihai Ion was close behind with 32 per cent. Wildrose candidate Mark Mantei won 28 per cent.

Calgary-Lougheed is considered a conservative stronghold, and has elected PCs to the provincial legislature since its creation in 1993. Rodney has held the southwest riding since 2004 and has now won a fourth term.

The riding includes the communities of Bridlewood, Evergreen, Woodbine and Woodlands.

Candidates:

  • Progressive Conservative: Dave Rodney (Incumbent)
  • Liberal: Leila Keith
  • NDP: Mihai Ion
  • Wildrose: Mark Mantei
