EDMONTON – RCMP say they’ve received an overwhelming response to a call for video in relation to the murder investigation of a Sherwood Park mother.

Earlier this week, Strathcona County RCMP put out the call for any video of public areas in the community the night of Paula Stiles’ death.

“One valuable bit of information we’ve been getting quite recently is our request for video tape of public areas from around Sherwood Park during that night,” said Insp. Gibson Glavin with RCMP K Division, “a tremendous response from the public, a lot of very good information that’s being reviewed by investigators right now.”

The 44-year-old mother-of-three was found dead in her home around noon on Wednesday, April 15.

“A resident of the home of Paula Stiles found Paula Stiles deceased on the morning of April 15,” said Glavin.

Officers have been tight-lipped on the investigation, but Glavin said Thursday “there’s no indication at this time that this was a random act.”

In the days following her death, RCMP scoured a rural property east of Sherwood Park Stiles formerly shared with her ex-husband, who has been identified as Ken Haeberle.

Glavid said officers are still searching for two teens who were skateboarding near the Foxhaven neighbourhood the night before Stiles was found dead.

“As witnesses we’re interested in what they may have heard or seen. We don’t know that they heard or saw anything but they may have information that they don’t know is valuable that we’d like to speak to them about,” he said Thursday.

Anyone who may have information that could help the investigation is asked to call the Strathcona County RCMP at 780-467-7741. Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
