TORONTO – Canadian border officials announced Thursday the seizure of close to 25 kilograms of cocaine found in a suitcase at Toronto’s Person International Airport.

Border officers made the discovery April 21 while monitoring baggage arriving on a flight from Cancun, Mexico.

Officials say 25 bricks were found in the suitcase and were tested positive for cocaine.

The illegal drug has since been turned over to Peel Regional Police for further investigation.

In 2014, the CBSA in the Greater Toronto Area made 180 cocaine seizures totaling over 954 kg.
