The flames are spreading quickly and nearby routes are also being cut off, according to RCMP.

Drivers are advised to take the long route around the area to avoid delays and to allow fire and emergency services to work without impediment.

The cause of the fire is unknown but Mounties asking motorists not to throw cigarettes from moving vehicles as grass conditions are dry and doing so is an offence.
