WATCH: Timelapse footage shows storm descend on Toronto

TORONTO – Any Toronto resident looking out a window Tuesday afternoon likely saw some rapidly shifting weather.

From mid-afternoon onwards, the city was hit with powerful bursts of thundershowers and high winds, quickly giving way to calm, clear weather once again.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Timelapse footage recorded at Toronto harbour shows just how quickly the city was subjected to powerful storms – and how quickly those storms gave way to sunny skies once again.

The footage shown was recorded between 3:45 and 4:45 p.m., with the city experiencing at least three separate bursts of thundershowers in that time frame.

The city is expected to be hit with more rain later Wednesday afternoon, with temperatures hovering in the high single-digits and cloud cover expected for most of the afternoon.
