WATCH: Texas police officers rescue unconscious man from burning car

WATCH ABOVE: Two Texas police officers are being praised for their work in rescuing a man from a fiery SUV this weekend. As Don Champion reports, cameras rolled as the officers jumped into action.

Dash cam footage released by the Mesquite Police Department in Texas on Monday shows a dramatic rescue by Officers Ryan Nielson and Autumn Soto.

Early Monday morning, the officers responded to a call about a major car crash with one vehicle reported to be on fire.

When they arrived on scene, they found 25-year-old Hector Valles unconscious and inside the burning SUV.

WATCH: Heroic officers rescue woman before car bursts into flames in New Jersey

The officers broke a window and pried the door open. With the help of a couple of bystanders, they eventually pulled Valles out of the vehicle.

Valles was the only person in the vehicle, and he can be heard responding to the officers’ question near the end of the footage.

He suffered from burns and internal injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, but police say Valles’ car veered off the road and struck a pole holding a highway sign.
