TORONTO – The tie that Rob Ford wore when he admitted to smoking crack cocaine is back on the auction block after the former Toronto mayor said the initial sale fell through due to “fraudulent bidding.”
Ford had received 111 bids for the necktie on eBay during the seven-day process in February with the winning bid closing at $16,100.
“This item is being listed due to fraudulent activity of the original winning bidder,” said a description on Ford’s eBay page.
Other items now being re-posted include a Saskatchewan Roughriders jersey and a black sweatshirt he wore while jogging with a reporter in 2012.
Ford was elected as a city councillor last October after he withdrew from the mayoral race following his cancer diagnosis.
He is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove a tumour from his abdomen next month.
