International Record Store Day thrills Regina music lovers

Regina – It was an exciting Saturday for those who lovingly catalogue their record collection.

Founded in 2007, International Record Store Day pays tribute to the culture of independently owned record stores.

The music industry has transformed since records were in fashion and the international celebration shows the younger generation of music lovers what they’ve been missing.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“I think everyone just loves that large object, tactile object in their hand, and the artwork is fantastic. You can sit there and look at the liner notes of your record, and the sound quality of the record is just so much different to digital,” said Dave Kuzenko, owner of X-Ray Records.

Busier than Boxing Day, International Record Store Day brought in over 250 music lovers to X-Ray Records, crammed shoulder-to-shoulder as they rifled through thousands of vinyl.
