TORONTO – An investigation is underway after a woman in her 50s was found burned to death on the porch of a west-end Toronto home early Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews responded to the scene just before 6 a.m. on Tealham Dr. in the Martin Grove Rd. and Albion Rd. area of Etobicoke.
Toronto EMS confirm the victim was found on the porch of the home and pronounced dead on scene.

Toronto Fire Services tell Global News the woman had burns on her entire body.
A tenant living in the basement told reporters he smelled smoke and ran upstairs to see the victim’s daughter-in-law standing next to the body.

“By the time they woke up, they heard somebody screaming outside,” said Jeet Randhawa.
“So they came out and then she was almost burnt. Then they grabbed a jacket and tried to stop the fire. By that time I think it was too late.”
Randhawa said the elderly woman lived at home with her son, daughter-in-law and their two children.
He said she was calm and didn’t witness any fighting with family members.
“She’s always happy with you and she always says hi when I come to the house,” Randhawa said.
The police homicide unit, as well as the Office of the Fire Marshal, are on scene conducting their investigation.
