WINNIPEG – Boxing Day shoppers at a Winnipeg mall got more than they bargained for when youths shot pepper spray, sending three people to hospital.
Police and paramedics were called to Polo Park mall around 2:30 p.m. for reports of youths shooting pepper spray into a crowd of shoppers.

Const. Jason Michalyshen (MICK-ah-lish-in) says an unknown number of people were affected by the spray, which can cause a burning sensation in the eyes, coughing and trouble breathing.
He says emergency officials helped numerous people and took three to hospital in stable condition.
The officer says there were no serious injuries.
No arrests have been made.
