NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. – An abandoned van investigation turned into something more for Mounties in North Battleford, Sask. Police were called to a parking lot at 102nd Street and 13th Avenue on Wednesday for a report of a van with animal carcasses inside.

Investigating officers determined the van had been stolen earlier in the day from a business in Edmonton.
The van was full of slaughtered lambs ready to be butchered. The value of the lambs is estimated at $40,000 by the owner.
