WINNIPEG – City hall is flying the Jets’ colours Thursday morning as the NHL team prepares for its second-last regular-season game two points shy of a guaranteed playoff spot.
The Twitter accounts of Mayor Brian Bowman and the Winnipeg Police Service were among those tweeting #GoJetsGo messages as the city gets behind a team that hasn’t made the playoffs since coming to Winnipeg in 2011.
The earlier version of the Winnipeg Jets was beaten by the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the 1996 playoffs.
