EDMONTON — Alberta Liberal Leader David Swann says his party has just 31 candidates so far for the election, but says it’s Premier Jim Prentice’s fault.
Swann told reporters the party would be much better prepared if it had an extra year of prep time.

The province, by law, was not supposed to have an election until the spring of 2016.
However, Prentice has called it for May 5th, saying he needs a mandate to pass his budget.

Swann says they’re still hoping to get more candidates, but will focus their campaign on becoming the official Opposition.
The NDP and the PCs have full slates of candidates while the Wildrose has 65 candidates despite losing almost all of its caucus in a mass floor-crossing.
