North Regina backyard shed fire treated as suspicious

REGINA – An afternoon fire in the city’s north end is being treated as suspicious by the fire department.

Regina Fire & Protective Services crews were dispatched to a home near the intersection of Elmview Road and Lloyd Crescent at 1:54 p.m. on Friday.

The fire burned down a shed and a part of a fence in the home’s backyard, according to Deputy Fire Chief Gerard Kay. Smoke could be seen for kilometres away.

The damage is estimated to cost $1,000, and the investigation should begin on Tuesday.

Nobody was injured in the fire.
