The medical regulator had previously found Yazdanfar’s conduct to be incompetent and disgraceful when dealing with several cosmetic surgery patients.

Following the two-year suspension, Yazdanfar will be allowed to be an assistant in a hospital-based setting and must allow random inspections of her practice and patient charts.

In September 2007, a 32-year-old patient died after the doctor removed 6.6 litres of fat from her – well above guidelines.

Evidence was that Yazdanfar didn’t call for an ambulance until 40 minutes after the patient had fallen critically ill.
