The SIU said there was what it called an “interaction” between police and Beau Aaron Baker and he was shot.

Baker,20, was later pronounced dead in hospital just after 10 p.m.

The SIU said an autopsy is scheduled to take place in Hamilton on Saturday.

Five SIU investigators and three forensic investigators have been assigned to review the incident.

The SIU is automatically called in to review cases involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
