WEST KELOWNA – A 21-year-old man is facing charges after a Tim Hortons restaurant was robbed Saturday evening. Police believe he may also be the suspect in two other nearby robberies.
Police say a Tim Hortons restaurant in West Kelowna was robbed at 10:40 p.m. on March 28. They say a male suspect walked into the restaurant with his face covered, demanded money from the cashier, and then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A police service dog was called in but after initiating a short track, the suspect could not be located. However, on March 29, thanks to tips from the public, police located and arrested the suspect. Cody James Higgs is charged with robbery and disguising his face with intent to commit.
He remains in custody and will appear in court on April 2.
West Kelowna RCMP are also investigating robberies at the Super 8 Motel and the Superstore. They believe all three robberies may be connected.
Anyone with information is asked to contact West Kelowna RCMP or Crimestoppers.
