Father of two fatally shot in front of Etobicoke home

TORONTO – Toronto police are appealing for witnesses after a 46-year-old man was fatally shot outside his home in Etobicoke late Monday evening.

The incident happened just after 11 p.m. at 163 Jamestown Crescent near Albian Rd. and Kipling Ave. where police arrived to find the victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police have identified the victim as Donald Beckles, a stay-at-home father who was living with his wife and two children at the time of the shooting.

Detective Murray Barnes told the media Tuesday morning Beckles was watching television when he stepped outside for a smoke and fatally shot.

“Information that we’ve gathered believe it was a targeted shooting,” said Barnes.
