RCMP was taken by surprise after responding to a noise complaint and finding three adults bound and badly beaten in a secluded part of Richmond.
Mounties said they found the three victims along River Road between No. 7 and No. 8 Roads on Feb. 28 at about 11 p.m. The trio, one female and two males, were taken to the hospital for treatment and one of the victims had serious cuts to his face and head.
The victims all lived in the Lower Mainland and have since been released from hospital.
According to police, this was a case of mistaken identity. According to the victims, they were sitting at a campfire when they were approached by a group of four unknown males. The group of males mistook the trio for somebody else and allegedly beat them and fled the scene.
Richmond RCMP is looking for the four males allegedly involved in the assault. One suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 20 to 30 years old. The other three males are described as “mixed ethnicity” and possibly in their mid-20s to mid-30s.
The Richmond RCMP Serious Crimes Unit is now investigating the case.
