VANCOUVER – Do you own yoga pants? Eat sushi all the time? How many umbrellas do you own?

Those are the kinds of questions the City of Vancouver is asking in its Talk Vancouver survey.

“The purpose of the survey is to get people talking, to build pride and encourage the public to share and celebrate their own ‘Vanniversary’ of when they first arrived in the city,” said a spokesperson for the City of Vancouver in an email. “It coincides with Vancouver’s 129th birthday on April 6 when we will release the results of the survey.”

The questions revolve around what landmark best represents Vancouver, what is the city’s most interesting building and what places a resident might want to take a visitor.

“We also want to encourage people to sign up for Talk Vancouver, the city’s platform to survey residents on upcoming decisions about parks, budgets and major developments,” said the spokesperson. “More than 3,930 people are currently signed up for Talk Vancouver.”

One of the most talked about questions is what types of rain people like the most and what type people like the least.

The options are torrential downpours, rain that’s blowing sideways, drizzle, rain that’s mostly mist, sudden rain in the middle or a regular day and gentle spring rain. There is no option for no rain.

The results of the survey will be released on April 6.
