A list of First Nations bands under third-party management

OTTAWA – There are three different degrees of government intervention for First Nations having trouble running their communities. In total, 144 bands are under some kind of control, with 65 communities being lightly “recipient-managed” and 67 being more strictly “co-managed.”

There are 12 bands who have handed all control of their finances to a third party:
