UPDATE Friday March 20 : Valoroso Foods denies accusations by former employees that date tampering happens at the Kelowna establishment.
Interior health issued a statement following our story on Valoroso Foods. It says it has received four complaints regarding Valoroso Foods in Kelowna. It says the complaints were investigated and concerns regarding labeling and best before dates were referred to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. We attempted to contact the agency for its response but our calls have not been returned.
Meantime, Joe Valoroso contacted Global Okanagan Friday to say his store will be closing for one day; Sunday for a full inventory review. Volorosa says anything that is outdated will be thrown out and reported to the CFIA.
