Twisted Sister drummer A.J. Pero dies at 55

TORONTO — A.J. Pero, drummer for rock band Twisted Sister, has died at 55.

“The members of Twisted Sister are profoundly saddened to announce the untimely passing of our brother, A.J. Pero,” read a statement issued Friday.

“The band, crew and most importantly the family of A.J. Pero thank you for your thoughts and prayers at this time.”

Pero played with Twisted Sister from 1982 to 1986 and again beginning with the band’s reunion in 1997. He was also part of a band called Adrenaline Mob.

Members of Adrenaline Mob found Pero unresponsive on a tour bus Friday morning.

Twisted Sister is best known for hits “We’re Not Gonna Take It” and “I Wanna Rock” from the 1984 album Stay Hungry.

According to his website, Pero was writing a book about “his life’s journeys and lessons.”
