LAVAL, Que. — Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. has a deal to acquire Shell’s retail, commercial fuels and aviation businesses in Denmark, a move that will expand the Quebec-based company’s presence in northern Europe.

The Montreal-area company said the two sides have agreed to keep financial terms confidential.

Couche-Tard will be acquiring 315 retail sites, including 225 full-service fuel stations.

Shell owns 140 of the retail locations, while 115 are leased and 60 are dealer-owned.

Couche-Tard will also acquire an aviation business operating at seven Danish airports, including at Copenhagen, and a commercial fuels operation from A/S Dansk Shell.

The company said it expects the deal to close in the second half of its 2016 financial year, which ends next spring.
