Trial begins for Calgary nurse charged with sexual assault of patient

CALGARY – A trial is underway for a Calgary nurse accused of sexually assaulting a young patient at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Drew Legary is accused of one count each of sexual assault and sexual interference against a 13-year-old boy in 2011.

On Monday, court watched video of a police interview with the boy taken several years ago.

On the video, the boy tells detectives that the accused touched his genitals and made sexual comments.

Legary had initially been charged with the sexual assault of two of his patients.
