Surrey RCMP are investigating another targeted shooting that happened last night. It is the fifth shooting since early Tuesday morning.
The 28-year-old man was shot just hours after police issued a public plea for information regarding three shootings that happened in less than 24 hours.
Shortly before midnight, Surrey RCMP received a report there was a male shooting victim laying in the 19200-block of 80th Avenue. After arriving on the scene, police found the 28-year-old, who is a resident of Langley, being helped by several local residents. The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower body and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The male victim is known to police.
Early in the investigation police found that no one in the area heard any of the shots. The victim told police he was shot in a vehicle in another location and dropped in the area he was found.
Police believe the shooting was targeted and are asking anyone who may have any information regarding the victim or the shooting to call Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
