TORONTO — Police officers descended on the Miami Beach mansion of rapper Lil Wayne on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a report of multiple shooting victims.

Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriqguez said an unidentified man called a non-emergency number and “advised us he had shot four people … and requested police assistance.”

Officers who arrived at the eight-bedroom waterfront home found no evidence of a shooting. They believe it could have been a “swatting” prank — when someone triggers an emergency response by making false claims.

Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter, was not home at the time.

Last Saturday, police were outside the rap star’s property to investigate reports of a suspicious man. No one was found.
