MONTREAL – The music community was devastated after 42-year-old journalist and MontrealConcerts founder Richard Legault passed away suddenly on February 16, 2015.
So, when Journal de Montreal journalist Raphaël Gendron-Martin asked Quebecoise singer Marie-Mai to sing a tribute to the music lover it seemed natural that she would perform an acoustic rendition of ‘Firework’ with her husband Fred St-Gelais playing guitar – a song Legault had a soft spot for.
After the soulful performance, Gendron-Martin called out to the Twitterverse with the hashtag #GetIt2Katy to ask singer Katy Perry to watch the video.
The internet has gone crazy over the video since its release four days ago.
