Seven schools are facing closure or a merger, and several more could be relocated.

Starting Monday evening, the EMSB will hold a series of meetings in order to hear from parents and stakeholders in local communities.

The EMSB is considering school closures due to a 20 per cent decline in enrolment over the past ten years.

The hearings run from Monday through Thursday and the EMSB is expected to vote on the proposed changes in January 2012.
