TORONTO – Two firefighters were hurt in an explosion while battling a fire at a retirement home in Oakville.
An electrical fire broke out Thursday night at the Palermo Village Retirement Residence on Dundas Street knocking out the building’s power.

The two firefighters were caught in a blast triggered in the building’s electrical room.
Their injuries are considered minor. None of the building’s residents were hurt.
