CALGARY – Police are looking to the public for help identifying two men they believe may be connected to two incidents of arson in the city’s southwest.
In the first incident, it’s believed a man poured a flammable liquid on the back door of a business in the 1700 block of 11th Avenue S.W. and set it on fire. It happened around 1 a.m. on January 1st.
Investigators say two men later visited the same property around 3 a.m. on January 20th, at which point video surveillance appears to show them breaking into the property.
Investigators say a small fire was set inside the building, which burned out before spreading very far.
Although no one was injured, the two incidents together resulted in an estimated $100,000 in damage.
Police believe the business is being targeted, and have released CCTV photos of the suspects in the hopes of finding their identity.
