Cameron Jolibois was later arrested at a Saskatoon hotel and charged with uttering threats and mischief.

The Crown stayed the charges prior to the start of Jolibois’ trial Wednesday in Saskatoon. A prosecutor did not reveal the reasons for the decision.

The stay means the charges against the 40-year-old La Loche resident could be re-instated within a year.

Investigators alleged the call was traced to a cellphone belonging to Jolibois, who pleaded guilty to lesser charges of failing to attend court and providing a breath sample.
