CALGARY- Police evacuated an apartment building, and several other residents in the southwest community of Kingsland on Wednesday night.
Police say a call for a weapons complaint came in around 4:30 p.m.
When they arrived, they found a man who was visibly upset, and throwing several objects off the balcony.
Multiple police cars were on scene, and several streets were blocked off for almost five hours.
City transit buses were sent to the scene for residents to wait as police calmed the situation.
The man surrendered to police, and remains in custody. People were allowed back into their homes shortly after 9:30 p.m.
