Alberta PCs reject Anglin’s bid to run for party nomination

MLA Joe Anglin. Global News

EDMONTON – Alberta legislature member Joe Anglin is a would-be candidate without a home.

The Progressive Conservative party has announced it will not allow Anglin to seek the Tory nomination in the constituency of Rimbey-Rocky Mountain House-Sundre.

The party did not give a reason, except to say that having Anglin represent it was not in its best interests.

Two other Tory candidates are seeking to run in the constituency, which is currently represented by Anglin as an Independent.

Anglin has been a free agent since quitting the Wildrose party in November amid reports he was going to be kicked out over – among other concerns – secretly audio-taping caucus discussions.

Anglin has denied that, and the Wildrose caucus has not shown any proof to back up its claim.
